FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here you can find all the questions people have asked us, and the answers to those questions. Please do not hesitate to open a thread in this section with your own questions, which, when answered, will be added to this list.

Q: Can you access the c-box from a website?
A: Yes! Here is the link: http://my.cbox.ws/ffhp

Q: Will 'FX' affect vampires?
A: We have made a canon decision that yes, it will affect all supernatural creatures in similar ways to humans. Keep watching for more on this soon.

Q: Will 'FX' affect dragonbloods?
A: The Ministry does not have enough data on this. So please, roleplay this however you like be sure not to give your character too much power!

Q: Is 'FX' available outside of the UK?
A: Recently, Antonio Giovanni (father of one of our characters, Valentina Giovanni) has begun to import and distribute 'fx' to southern parts of Europe. He is based in Italy. England's influence extends to Russia. Please do not roleplay anyone outside of Europe with this drug yet.

Q: Can Vampires attend Stonefalls as a student?
A: Yes, they can. There are a few guidelines however. Any vampire of any age can work at Stonefalls but only some vampires may be students. If you play a vampire and wish them to attend Stonefalls they must have been recently changed and still of age to attend. For instance, a character who was changed during or before her time at Stonefalls may attend. You may even have some time off to adjust to life as a vampire and then return. What we will not accept is vampires who have been changed for decades or centuries returning to school.

Q: If ages are not specified on the canon list, are they open to interpretation?
A: The only ages we've listed are the ones that are made canon by the Harry Potter books or by J.K. herself. If an age isn't listed, it is open to interpretation — within reason, obviously. Make sure it makes sense with the timeline, and we'll be happy.

FAQ - Please read if you intend to make a dragonblood

Q: Do Dragonbloods know where they came from? Do they all know the story?
A: No, only some of them will. There are some families who would pass down the story from generation to generation meaning some dragonbloods will know exactly where they came from, and all the details of their history. However, for the most part, the bloodline stretched itself across the earth, and now dragonbloods can crop up in any part of the globe. The majority of these will have no idea why they are who they are.

Q: How might they find out about who they are?
A: Some Dragonbloods who are aware of what and who they are might suspect the same in others, like Werewolves can smell the taint on other Werewolves. Some may survive attacks by other supernatural creatures and wonder why, leading them to ask around, do researched and use the internet. Tales of the Dragonbloods can be found in many places, if you look hard enough. You also might find that your powers awaken upon interaction with a dragon. It will happen differently for each dragonblood; you can never be sure how the powers will originally manifest.

Q: Can Vampires or Werewolves also be Dragonbloods?
A: No, they cannot. Any Dragonblood, whether they are aware of their gift or not, cannot become any other species. Perhaps they attempted to become one, or were attacked, and when nothing came of it they became suspicious about why. Either way, Dragonbloods are immune to all other species. This means no cross vampires, werewolves, banshees or veela.

Q: Can Dragonbloods have other abilities, such as wandless magic?
A: Yes, they can. Any Dragonblood can have any listed ability, or any ability rolled on the wheel of luck and magic or bought from the store.

Q: Can a Dragonblood also be an animagus? No. The Dragonblood's DNA would stop any other transformation. It's possible that this might have clued the person in question in on the fact that they were different, because no doubt they would fail the animagus test, or they'd turn into a dragon instead!

Q: Would a dragonblood always be a human dragonblood? Is that their blood lineage? Do they also have a second blood lineage, such as pureblood, half-blood, muggleborn, etc.?
A: The lineage of the Dragonblood (for the application) will be (Blood type) Human Witch/Wizard. Dragonbloods will always still have a blood type (pureblood, half or muggleborn) if they are of magical heritage. Please set the species on the application to Dragonblood.

Q: Do Dragonbloods have to be magical?
A: No, Dragonbloods are just as, or even possibly more likely to be muggles or squibs than full blooded magical witches and wizards. Please feel free to create both magical and muggle dragonbloods.

Q: Is there such thing as a Dragonblood 'coven'?
A: Yes. Dragonbloods who are aware of who they are might seek to connect with others who are the same. I think they would materialise in regions with higher Dragonblood populations, and online. Both online and physical covens will be accepted, but it makes no sense to have several in one area, so the admin may concider creating a coven for those in the Stonefalls area, or perhaps one for the UK and one for other regions, etc. Depending on what kind of characters emerge with the trait.

Q: Could a Dragonblood go through their lives never knowing what they are?
A: Yes, definitely, since sometimes it can be hard to discover this, it is entirely probable that a Dragonblood could discover the fact at any age, and at any point in life, or die never knowing. Please note, this doesn't mean everyone had Dragonblood parents who just 'never realised'. The cap limit is a hard limit, meaning anyone playable (and that includes parents and younger siblings) counts towards the cap.

Q: Are Dragonbloods naturally drawn to Dragons; and what about hunters?
A:Yes, in both cases. Dragonbloods may be overwhelmingly drawn to dragons; but it won't apply to all Dragonbloods. Some may find they never feel a connection, and others might feel it all their lives. It's entirely up to you.

Q: Will the cap ever be raised beyond 8?
A: As the site grows, so will the cap, so get inviting! :D

Q: Can they only be born to other Dragonbloods? If they have a child will they ALWAYS be dragonblood?
A: No; Dragonbloods can be born to anyone with an ancestry connection to the original Dragonbloods. It can skip multiple generations at a time, and there is even a chance that that no Dragonblood was born in your line between you and your original Dragonblood ancestor. Children born to a Dragonblood will not always be Dragonbloods themselves, in fact it is very rare (although slightly more probable) however as always, this is limited by the cap. So, tldr; yes they -can- have Dragonblood children, but it's in no way required.

Q: Can you hide that you are a Dragonblood?
A: Yes, Dragonbloods look like average human beings; being a Dragonblood does not change that, so no one will know unless you tell them, or they witness your powers.

Q: Dragons pose no threat to them?
A: No, they do not. Dragons have a sort of sixth sense that means they know a Dragonblood when it approaches them. It will not attach those with it's own blood in their veins unless that Dragonblood attacks them first.

Q: How do they transform into dragons? How long does it take to master the skill?
A: Transforming is similar to being an animagi. You must learn the skill, and there are dangers, just as there would be when training as an animagus. Mastering the skill will take decades, but learning the skill and being able to transform may only take months. During this learning time, you might accidentally turn, or be unable to change back for a time, just like learning to be an animagus.

Q: Dragonbloods can control dragons, how?
A: Dragons may do a Dragonbloods bidding, but this is based on trust. If you become power hungry and demand a dragon does something for you, please get ready to be eaten, lol.

Q: How long do Dragonbloods live? Are they immortal? Are they able to die?
A: While Dragonbloods do live a long time, much longer than a human, they are not immortal and they can die just like any other human being. You can expect your Dragonblood to age slower as well, meaning a Dragonblood of age 100 may look more like a 50 or 60 year old. Dragonbloods can live, when not threatened from between 200 to 500 years, at which point they begin to die of old age.

Q: The original group of Dragonbloods, are they still alive?
A: Yes, the majority of those who build and lived in the sanctuary are alive, but I'm not going to tell you more than that at this point.

Q: Tell me more about hunters; do they have powers? What stipulations apply to them that might not apply to a regular human? A: Hunters are regular humans like you or I, they cannot transform into anything else. They can be an animagus with training. Hunters can be muggles, witches or wizards. They may have heightened senses, and be quite able with a bow. They can also smell the blood of a dragon to varying degrees.

Q: How does FX affect Dragonbloods?
A: There is not enough research into the matter to answer this question. So at this point in time, it is up to you as a rper, within reason of course.

Q: Can you change part of yourself into a dragon, but not all the way?
A: Sometimes, while learning to do this, you might not fully succeed and only have part of your body turn. This could be a hand turned into a claw or something like that. This is something that is not permanent, and will go back to normal in a short period of time. Partial transformations only happen during accidents like this, though. A dragonblood cannot intentionally transform only partway. Like an animagus, the transformation is either fully into a dragon or fully into a human.
